VW selects EPS for Toughness
and Protection

The latest VW advertising press campaign shows phone boxes, bollards, post boxes, lampposts and parking meters all carefully packed in EPS — to protect them from the new tough VW Polo.

It was no accident that DDB, the leading London advertising agency, in charge
of the campaign, chose expanded polystyrene to symbolise the toughness
of the New Polo.

Matt Ross, Account Director, DDB London explains: “The Volkswagen Polo has always been associated with toughness and the New Polo is no exception. When our creative team was looking for ways to bring this to life, polystyrene offered an instant metaphor for toughness and protection.”

As it says in the small print ‘Beauty can be skin deep. Toughness can’t.’ The same can said about EPS packaging…
