Putting The Pin In

A rarely mentioned benefit of EPS is that you can stick pins in it! This particular characteristic is very useful indeed for dressmaker’s models.

John Fagg, Director, Adjustoform Products Ltd, explains: “We make dress-making models using an EPS moulding supplied by LINPAC Moulded Foams. The models have an adjustable structure underneath the EPS so that the size can be altered to suit the individual dressmaker.

“The fact that you can put a pin in EPS and it stays in place makes EPS ideal material for these items. Also EPS is lightweight which makes the models easy to handle in the home.”

Adjustoform also uses EPS to make jewellery busts with flock covers. These are used by shops to display necklaces and earrings; with the added benefit of the extra security of pins holding the items safely in place.
