Recycling Update
 Grimsby
A viable system of collection, compaction and recycling has been set up to service the fish processors in Grimsby. It has resulted in around 30 tonnes of used fish boxes being recycled every week in the Grimsby area. The EPS Packaging Group has been closely involved with this project since its inception and continues to monitor developments and offer assistance when it is required.
Wales
A new EPS recycler is setting up in Wales. The Group welcomes this new development and has provided advice on machinery, getting hold of used EPS packaging and end markets for the processed material.
Scotland
CK Polymers are currently investigating sources of used EPS packaging in Scotland to see how much material is available. If enough reliable suppliers are found the company will invest in a compaction machine at its Jedborough site.
Retailers
At a recent seminar in London, Andrew Barnetson met a number of retailers and was able to offer advice and information about dealing with their used EPS packaging. We hope to be introducing a major DIY retailer to an appropriate recycler in the near future.
