EPS Wins Again

Expanded foam packaging has again been honoured in the Institute of Packaging's Starpack competition with both silver and bronze awards going to EPS Packaging Group member Tuscarora. The winning designs were created for leading white goods' manufacturer, General Domestic Appliances.

Silver was awarded for an expanded polystyrene multi-pack; universal to four widths of cooker with six different hob layouts and multiple styles. The base moulding expands laterally by a unique linkage system to become universal to all cooker widths from 50cm to 60cm.

Bronze was awarded to the Eiger pack. This expanded polystyrene pack is universal to 27 different models of General Domestic Appliances' fridges, freezers and fridge freezers and has the capability to stack to 6 metres high and withstand clamp truck pressure in excess of 2,500 lbs force.

The Institute of Packaging promotes and recognises the UK packaging industry's best standards in British packaging design.
