The Worshipful Company of Horners and the British Plastics Federation (BPF) are inviting entries for the Horners Award 2002.

Any product of outstanding design made mainly in plastics or a revolutionary advance in a plastics manufacturing process is eligible for entry.Companies entering must have a proven record of commercial success in the UK.

The deadline for entries is Friday 28 June 2002. The winner will be presented with the award by the Rt Hon The Lord Mayor of London at the Annual Banquet of the Worshipful Company of Horners held at Mansion House in October 2002. Award Chairman, Dr Bill Madden, says: "The Award sets out to encourage excellence in the use of plastics. We look forward to viewing an exciting field of entries representing the brightest and best in our sector."

Previous winners of the Horners Award included the first singlepiece, lever-lid PET can and the first plastic television screen.
