EPS Packaging Group Man
Wins Major Award

On 16 June 2001, at the first-ever Plastics Industry Awards Dinner, Andrew Barnetson, Environmental Affairs Manager for the Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) Packaging Group won the Personal Achiever of the Year award.

Andrew Barnetson's win came as no surprise to the EPS Packaging Industry which has long been aware of Andrew's outstanding commitment to their industry and the diligence and enterprise he has put into his work.

"This award is richly deserved," says Jack Acres, Chairman of the EPS Packaging Group.

"Andrew has achieved great things for the EPS Packaging Group, in both promoting our packaging product and in the recycling arena."

"Since his appointment in 1997 he has established credible recycling figures for the UK industry and he has worked hard to foster and support UK recyclers of EPS Packaging. Today expanded polystyrene has one of the highest rates for plastics recycling in the UK and Andrew's contribution has been key to our continuing success in this area".

The Plastics Industry Awards is the first industry-wide initiative to celebrate the excellence that exists throughout the plastics industry and winners of this year's awards have set a high standard for future winners to achieve.
