AUDI choose expanded polystyrene packaging for latest press campaign

Audi’s latest press campaign features expanded polystyrene playing a supporting role to a glamorous Audi car. The campaign which was launched in October 1999 and is currently appearing in glossy car magazines, shows a shiny, sleek Approved Used Audi beautifully wrapped in expanded polystyrene (EPS).

“The Expanded Polystyrene Packaging Group is absolutely delighted by this press campaign,” says Jack Acres, Chairman of the Group. “To be associated with a top quality brand like Audi is great news for our industry. It is a reminder to everyone that our packaging offers lightweight protection that is second to none. If Audi has approved EPS for this kind of campaign — it must be the best.”

Expanded polystyrene was chosen because it is known as the best protective packaging available, as a spokesperson from top advertising agency BBH Unlimited explains: “Everyone associates polystyrene packaging with the purchase of valuable new goods. Using it gave us a quick visual way to say “We treat our Approved Used Audis with the same care as new Audis.

“We are very pleased with this campaign, using expanded polystyrene has really helped us to get our message across.”
