Sculpture Competition

The Expanded Polystyrene Packaging Group’s Sculpture competition attracted 30 entries from art students all over the UK. Competitors were asked to address the theme of Protection using expanded polystyrene to highlight the benefits of the product as a superior packaging material in a variety of applications.

The Judges, Hugh Smith, Chairman of the EPS Group, Professor Glyn Williams of the Royal College of Art, enter to other names were impressed by the wide range of submissions, many of which used expanded polystyrene in new and unusual ways.

The winning creation ‘Travel Insurance’ by Loraine Burgon of Kent Institute of Art and Design was commended for the artist’s imaginative response to the protection theme.
