Tom Dixon EPS Chairs – The Story

Packaging is not the only use for EPS, this versatile material is also designed and moulded to make child car seats, tailors dummies, bicycle helmets, life belts -- Sir Paul Smith even used it to make a unique cover for his book 'You Can Find Inspiration in Everything'.

In 2006 the EPS Packaging Group has teamed up with Tom Dixon to make the first ever chair in moulded EPS. Hundreds of these designer chairs were given away free in Trafalgar Square on 21 September 2006 at a major London Design Festival event.
