Design Initiatives

EPS (expanded polystyrene) is familiar to consumers as the material from which polystyrene packaging is made. In this humble, but vital role, EPS protects valuable items in transit from the factory to our home.

Increasingly EPS is also seen by designers as an interesting and versatile material to work with. When well-known figures in the design world such as Tom Dixon and Michael Sodeau embrace EPS, it encourages younger designers to look afresh at the possibilities offered by this unique material.

Since the groundbreaking Tom Dixon EPS Chair in September 2007, the EPS Packaging Group has been actively seeking ways to connect with the design community.
