CK Polymers expands into Scotland
On 1 September 2005 CK Polymers started a 5-year contract with Farne Salmon and Trout in Duns, Berwickshire to compact and recycle all their used fish boxes.
“The current tonnage is 260 tonnes a year and it is projected to rise to 400 tonnes during our contract,” says Mark Whitney, CK Polymers.
Even with the expected increase, CK Polymers’ new Scottish base in Melrose, will be operating below capacity and Whitney is keen to find new sources of used EPS: “We are interested in compacted or un-compacted, fish boxes or clean EPS, particularly in the Edinburgh or East Coast of Scotland area.”
