Recycled EPS product goes Stateside

highwood bathThe UK's leading manufacturer of replacement hardwood that is made using recycled expanded polystyrene has opened a new factory near Philadelphia, USA to supply the increasing demand for hot tub surrounds made from this innovative material.

Highwood, a family-owned firm based on the Isle of Wight, produces a hardwearing, maintenance-free – it never rots – synthetic wood that looks and acts almost exactly like wood.

The Highwood products are typically used in applications where the long lasting, low maintenance character is an advantage. For door frames, fencing, shop fitting trims and garden furniture items like gazebos and decking it is ideal.

"Spa and hot tub trims are a completely new area for Highwood," explains Yvonne Jordan, Highwood. "Their popularity in the States has made it a huge growth sector for us. So we decided to expand our operations and open up a factory in Pennsylvania, specifically to service this industry.

"Our replacement hardwood is ideal for the damp conditions created by a spa bath. And, for the outside settings that are so popular in the US, its performance is outstanding."

Highwood www.highwood.uk.com is supplied with EPS bead made from recycled EPS packaging by a UK recycler. The recycled bead is mixed with virgin EPS bead to produce Highwood¹s unique replacement timber products.
