Welcome to the
BPF EPS Group website

The EPS (expanded polystyrene) Group is a member-group of the British Plastics Federation, and was formed in January 2009, following a merger of the BPF EPS Construction Group and the BPF EPS Packaging Group.

The Group represents 80% of the expandable polystyrene manufacturing industry in the UK and works to provide authoritative, reliable information to companies and individuals seeking independent facts about the performance of the material.

The protective and insulating abilities of EPS are unrivalled, making it a prime packaging material and, an outstanding provider of thermal insulation in the construction industry.

The environmental credentials of EPS are supported by the Building Research Establishment, which has given EPS a much sought after A* environmental rating, in addition thousands of tonnes of used EPS packaging are recycled every year here in the UK.

We provide guidance to organisations wishing to recycle used EPS and our Members can provide detailed technical advice – you can find contact details in the Members section.
